On the 13th day of Advent, Santa brings you an article about some of his favourite Old School Runescape Youtubers.

First on the list is Mudkip. An OSRS Youtuber with a respectable following, he started off with guides and tips videos. A few years after, he started a Hardcore Ironman progression series, and this was the point where I started watching him. After he maxed the account, he started a new journey to max a new Ultimate Ironman. Around the time when he maxed his UIM, Group Ironman was released. He moved in with his long term girlfriend, Spookdog, whom he met on Runescape (dreams do come true, guys) and started a duo group ironman series together. Before that, she was already dabbling with Youtube. But now, she also started a consistent progression series, making videos about their Group Ironman progress. It was fun watching from both perspectives.

Mudkip could have went to a five-man group with other established content creators, and as you know, collaborations in the Youtube world is good for channel growth and gaining a better reach. He earned my respect when he chose to duo with his girlfriend instead, to spend more time together.

But what I like most about Mudkip, is his calm and relaxed demeanor. Watching his videos is an absolute pleasure when I'm too tired to play the game.

During leagues season, he actively plays the game mode and posts daily while making good progress. Truly a dedicated OSRS player. Enjoy the below clip, which is his Trailblazer Reloaded day 1 video. The series is ongoing, so it may be worth a watch.

Next up is Spookdog. A relatively new content creator on the OSRS space, she has her fundamentals down which is a big plus. A clear microphone, consistent uploads, knowledge about many different aspects of the game from years of experience, and pretty good orb of oculus skills.

She has a nice sense of humour and you can feel the passion when she talks about the game - no matter how boring the tasks on hand are. While she might not be as mechanically skilled at the game as Woox or player killers like Torvesta, this actually made Spookdog relatable. She still tries the hard PVM content which is commendable. Spookdog also has moments where she talks about fashionscape and clothing choices, this is something I've rarely seen other OSRS content creators do.

I'll also talk about Jeporite. Some of you may know him from the Trailblazer Reloaded Area Guide on the official OSRS channel, where he introduced Fremennik region. He works on a "Northern Ultimate Ironman" series. It is a little different from region locking. He extends the wilderness ditch horizontally across Gielinor, and only allows himself to travel north of the ditch, and never crossing the invisible line to get to the other side.

The grind in that series is difficult. To get from 1 to 30 agility for example, you can only jump on the basalt rocks in front of lighthouse, getting 2xp per jump. As you can imagine, his upload schedule will be long, he only uploads every few months. This is also part of the allure. What I like about him is the creative video editing without going over the top.

Jcw is also an OSRS Youtuber I watch often. He is the definition of no xp waste. Ranked 1 on the OSRS hiscores for level 3 skillers, with 200m for every non-combat skill and 13m xp for 99 slayer. Over 3 billion xp. This is a feat that he achieved by copious amounts of tick manipulation.

I got to know about Jcw through those efficient skilling videos that he has made in the early days of his Youtube career.

A lot of skiller builds play a main account to get a taste of combat, and he is no exception. He might be one of the fastest people to max an account with a low amount of game hours. Now, he seems to be getting into progression videos with a Trailblazer Reloaded series. I enjoy the videos so far, he talks about efficient ways to level up which means he also earns points and ranks up fast. If you want to learn some tips, his videos will be a good watch.

Next up is Settled. I'm sure many of you who don't play OSRS will be familiar with him and his Morytania locked ultimate ironman series. He has won two golden gnome awards - Best Old School Runescape Video (2021), Best OSRS Video Maker (2019).

I like his videos because he willingly limits himself to make things hard, and shows us how he overcomes the challenges through game knowledge - finding non-meta content to do, substituting gear with the next best choices, and celebrating every step of the way when he makes progress. He also explains the tasks he is doing really clearly, to the point where a non Runescape player can understand. As I read the comments on his videos, I realised that he also brought back a lot of old players into OSRS, and even encouraged new people to play the game. As the biggest OSRS only Youtuber by subscriber count, he is doing good indirectly by injecting new blood into the game which can only be a plus.
