On this day of Advent, the annual Clan Quest Purple Hood Inn pub quiz was hosted by Uptheirons05 on the Clan Quest Discord at 22:00 GMT.
The rules were simple;
4 rounds, 10 questions per round, and a bonus round at the end to help define a winner. But who would come out on top? Competing to be crowned the new Clan Quest Pub Quiz Champion was Spywhoman, Santaends, Borosouro, and Darkestnight.
The first round consisted of headlines in the news (not limited to 2023) as homage to Uptheirons05's occupation working in one of the worlds largest newspapers, testing our players world wide awareness.
Then came the food knowledge round, something our clan has become surprisingly good at these past few years.
Then came knowledge about members of our clan. The following are the questions and answers for this round so you might get to know your clannies a little better!
(He hates Hoods?! No, he apparently dislikes "Hoodies". A collective boo was heard at this answer)
And finally it was the dreaded General Knowledge round that is mandatory for every pub quiz.
But what's this!? A bonus round?! The first letter of each question spelt out a sentence which answered the bonus question and was worth five whole points, and amazingly one savvy player got the correct answer; Santaends!
Irons took a brief moment to tally the scores and go through each question at the end before revealing the results, and it was a close one!
In fourth place with 24 points was Spywhoman, in third place with 26 points was Darkestnight, and in joint first place was Santaends and Borosouro with 27 points! But there can only be one winner.... Irons and Dark broke out the tie breaker question to see which of our finalists would be crowned Pub Quiz Champion of 2023....
And so it was decided! One of the two finalists did get the correct answer and therefore the bonus point bringing their total to 28 points, and this was Santaends!
Congratulations to Santa on claiming the 2023 Pub Quiz Champion title, thank you to everybody who joined us to compete or to listen in as they battled it out (honourable mentions to ISKH and Robbe!), and a massive thank you to Uptheirons05 for once again creating and hosting another fantastic Advent Pub Quiz (which he got up at 7am to host)!
