Interview with
by Miss Alaska
Anamona, otherwise known as Clan Quest's Superstar, has been around for yonks. A long time member, High Councillor, typical noob and active former, Anamona is a true example of what Clan Quest is about - being friendly, helpful and above all else, having fun. It's been a while Since Anamona's last interview with the Questaholic, so its about time we revisit the brain stuffs of this young lady and see what's up with our girl. Welcome to the December issue's interview of the lovely, Anamona!
How are you feeling about being on the hot seat again?
When wasn't I on the hot seat?
What has changed for you in life since you were last interviewed?
Not much, really. Been doing a bit more studying and this year I've discovered my dream job, which is working in a day care as a child minder, or nanny, or whatever you wish to call it. I will also be studying for this next year.
What brought you back to being more active in-game again?
I had more time on my hands and got bored of Guild Wars 2.
Just to make sure...you did take a break from RS right? It wasn't just my lame time zone preventing me from seeing you online?
I was forced to take a break because of my studies and work taking my precious time, then Guild Wars 2 came out and I got addicted to that for the first year.
If I could just butt in here...I was using one of my previous interviews as a template (Loud's to be specific). When adding this question in to the 'template', it looked a bit like this before I added Ana's response.
What has been your favourite thing about RS3?
Everything, really. Love how much it's starting to look like other more modern games. I can't wait to see what improvements will come with HTML 5 and although I like that you can play from almost anywhere because it's still a browser game, I would love it if they made a version that can be downloaded straight to the PC. A version for tablets would be awesome as well.
Do you see yourself sticking around in-game for a bit longer?
Been playing for 7 years, I guess I can stick around for a bit longer.
Severe lack of real life questions so far....haha. What's your occupation?
Technically unemployed at the moment, but my occupation will change to student soon.
Wise Ork
IRL photo? (Woah, didn't see that coming, did you? )
(Photo is at the bottom of the interview)
Taken pretty recently, definitely my favorite picture of 2013.
Are you still together with Mr. Anamona? If so, how is he doing?
We're still together and he's still living with me, I guess that makes everything well, lol.
Why does Nemo have such a hard time pronouncing your name? :c
Well, Nemo isn't the only one who has trouble pronouncing my name. I've met many people who couldn't pronounce it, perhaps it's a new tongue-twister?
Avaricious
Why was it anamona16, and why did it change?
See her previous interview!
MsKonnan10
Hi, Ana. You joined Clan Quest about the same time as me, (Jan.2010), yet it seems you have always been here. Perhaps that is because you were always a High Councilor, (and backer). How did you become "The Super Star" and "Queen of Clan Quest"?
Can't say I've always been a High Councilor, I can't even remember when I became one, but I guess I've always had a way with people, and since many people liked me, they decided I was popular enough to become a Superstar, or nowadays, queen. I don't really consider or even see myself to be that popular, I'm just a part of the Clan Quest family, an equal to everyone.
Is it too personal to ask why you were gone for almost a year? Were you studying? May we ask what you do in real life to keep so busy?
(See question 4)
When you came back about July 2013, you started a "Safekeep" thread. Do you have any goals to tell us about in that thread? You seem to be a very private person, not as talkative as some of us, so I don't know what to ask you. What would you most like to tell us about yourself, and your time in RS?
Until I've read your question I didn't even remember that I put a thread there. After re-reading it, I've realized that I accidentally put that thread in the wrong topic... very typical of me. Can't say I have any goals, really. They seem to change quite often, so I go with whatever I'm in the mood to do. Currently I'm doing Divination, but when I get bored of that I will probably do something else. I do train other things in between, all randomly. So many things to do in RS, I just can't pick one at a time. Also, I don't really consider myself that private... :O I guess I've just become more quiet in the past year or so, not sure why.
In your last interview, you talked about the game of 'Mölkky' which I had never heard of. Do you still play that rl game?
I haven't played it in like a year, and currently it's too cold to play it. Time and such is also not on my side, so practice hasn't happened since last year's fail in Germany. Maybe next year. ^^
How do you like RuneScape3, now you have been back in game again? Do you think the game is easier now, than when we struggled through those old first quests by ourselves? Do you consider yourself Combat orientated or Skilling orientated, in the game? Are you surprised by all the Lore being developed in the latest Quests?
Have to take one question at a time here. Love how RS3 turned out, but I want it to work properly, so I hope that they will cut down a bit on content and focus for awhile on graphics and bug fixing. Oh, and they need to give us the Eastern Lands! (Player-Owned Ports doesn't count.)
It depends on how you look at things, combat-wise it sort of became easier for older bosses, but since they release new bosses and remake the older ones, it's been balanced a bit more so it's more of a so-so. Overall gameplay used to be easier in the "old days", but I'm used to newer games and having skillbars and such so EoC and other featured that came along with RS3 were like a blessing for me.
I'm definitely Skilling orientated in RuneScape 3. I don't despise Combat, but I don't really like it either.
Can't say I'm surprised, really. It was about time they developed the lore further, until RS3 came out the game and everyone just seemed stuck and nothing new was really happening. So I'm very happy that we have new stories to look forward to, I say give me more!
Ytse
Was it difficult to learn English, or did you kind of grow up learning it? I know they're both in the same language family, but it still sounds hard moving from Romanian to English.
They're not in the same language family, Romanian is a Latin language, English is a West Germanic language. I sort of grew up learning it, I guess. I was in a club for kids when I was in pre-school, where I started learning words in English. Then school happened, so I kept studying there since it was a mandatory course. Watching a lot of cartoons and movies in English helped a lot with it is as well, since I didn't have anyone to speak with. When I got older and had my own computer and Internet, chatting online helped with spelling and pronounciation, thanks to the friends I've made online, I also got a passion for reading English books. Currently my situation is that I know English better than my own mother tongue. (Sorry, mom.)
Skill2Quest
How much is that Crown you have next to your name?
Your soul, an arm, both legs, both eyes, and your first-born.
Since you have been a player moderator, how was your experience since you had it? Like, do you enjoy being a player moderator?
I absolutely love it. You don't necessarily need it to help with the community, but being a Player Moderator has taught me many things about being a better person and many other things. I wouldn't give up on this for anything.
What's your favorite colour?
See Ana's last interview for the full response - but in short, it's metallic blue
Why is that your favorite colour?
I like this color because it reminds me of the sky, the water, it's both cool and calm. Then you're probably thinking, but it's metallic blue! Yeah, I always thought it's like a dark sky, but more shiny - hence, metallic blue ended up being my favorite color, heh.
What is your favorite subject of studies?
English has always been my favorite subject. I've always liked this language, so I also like studying it.
How is your Nursing Classes going?
Can't answer this since nursing school hasn't even started yet.
How is the weather there, at where you live?
At the moment, cold, and getting colder. Snowed a few days ago, but it's all been rain and fog since.
What brought you back to playing RS, after being away for so long?
RuneScape takes time... back then I didn't have that much time so a break was needed, and as I've explained before, I got interested in another game. Can't say a certain thing brought me back, but I've always liked this game so it was kind of expected that I didn't quit forever.

The previous skill guide was a bit lengthy, and much of the information was kind of moot because most of us have higher levels. I revamped it according to some suggestions and try to offer bite sized information with more relevance.
1. Thieving- Dwarf Traders
Rather than paying the gemstone directors in bars to prevent the trade guards from attacking, a more efficient method is to attack the 8 trade guards, and lure them into a single room. When they spawn back to their original positions, you just get them aggressive on you again and lure them to another room.
When you have got them all trapped, you can pickpocket the traders without getting attacked by guards. One of the brown engine traders doesn't move at all, making it easier to pickpocket.
It is good to know that due to the high fail rate of pickpocketing, the Five Finger Discount aura is extremely extremely helpful here. It can boost you up to 330k xp/h, with a tier 4 aura; 210% of the usual xp without aura.
An abyssal lurker with scroll gives a +4 boost, which helps quite a lot.
From my own testing, you can expect up to 210k xp/h using an Ardougne Cloak 3 and gloves of silence,
My setup:
2. Woodcutting- Crystal Trees
If you have trouble locating the tree spawns, here is a map which makes everything clear.
Clockwise from the top (fastest way to travel):
South- east of Dagannoth Lighthouse (Games Necklace)
South Seers' Village Courthouse (Seers' Lodestone)
Beside Dark Wizards' Tower (Clan Vexillium)
Northwest Brimhaven (Chip house teleport ? Brimhaven)
South Yanille (Lodestone)
East Observatory (Ring of Duelling-> Castle wars)
Prifddinas (Inaccessible, for now)
Tree Gnome Stronghold (Spirit Tree to Gnome Stronghold)
After doing field tests, when the tree ever states “slightly”, you might need to try more than once.
My setup:
Ring of Duelling, Games Necklace, Clan Vexillum (Falador spawn), Chipped teletab for the Brimhaven spot.
Also, a strung rabbit foot gives twice the odds of getting a crystal geode, which can give a triskelion key piece! The scrimshaw of tree shaking also does so, but I do not have one.
3. Woodcutting- Elder Trees
Since you can only chop them for 5 minutes, then wait 10 minutes for the next spawn, I offer the 3 most convenient locations, where you bring the least amount of things along to rotate.
Tree Gnome Stronghold
Falador Farm
Piscatoris (Fairy Ring AKQ)
My setup:
You can also use a yak instead of a portent of passage, or nothing at all.

Ingredients
3 to 3 1/2 pounds butternut squash, approximately 2, seeded and quartered
Unsalted butter, melted, for brushing
1 tablespoon kosher salt, plus 1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon freshly ground white pepper, plus 1/2 teaspoon
3 cups chicken or vegetable broth
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Directions
Heat the oven to 400 degrees F.
Place the quartered squash onto a half sheet pan, brush the flesh of the squash with a little butter and season with 1 tablespoon of the salt and 1 teaspoon of the white pepper. Place in the oven and roast for 30 to 35 minutes or until the flesh is soft and tender.
Scoop the flesh from the skin into a 6-quart pot. Add the broth, honey and ginger. Place over medium heat and bring to a simmer, approximately 7 to 8 minutes. Using a stick blender, puree the mixture until smooth*. Stir in the heavy cream and return to a low simmer. Season with the remaining salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
*When blending hot liquids: Remove liquid from the heat and allow to cool for at least 5 minutes. Transfer liquid to a blender or food processor and fill it no more than halfway. If using a blender, release one corner of the lid. This prevents the vacuum effect that creates heat explosions. Place a towel over the top of the machine, pulse a few times then process on high speed until smooth.

Christmas in Clan Quest
by Wise Ork
Gather around for laughter and sharing
For pudding and cake, smiling and caring
"Christmas is coming, we need decorations!"
yelled a noob about the festive preparations
"We also need gifts and hats, silly red-and-white"
Aye, Christmas is coming and noobs love the sight
Of fresh snow in the morning and festive cheer
Of gifts near the tree and Nogard as reindeer
For one time forget about Lucien and Nomad
It's Christmas; a time without need for combat
Pause all the questing, XP gains and gold
Just sit together and listen to the stories told

Bam, there is your proof upfront. I'm not a paid actor or any of that nonsense. You all know me and I'm a real person and the photo on the left is the photo I used when I shaved my head for Ytse in his struggle against cancer. The photo on the right is me a few months later (4 months of weightloss) and I'm down 57, I repeat FIFTY SEVEN, pounds. I'm not selling you anything and this guide will tell you exactly how I did it. No tricks or market gimmicks here just real truths and you can actually lose weight and SAVE money doing it, possibly even make money.

I'm not sure how well you can make it out in this picture but I actually just started using my fifth belt loop and this is my second belt I have bought since I started. My first belt I punched 2 extra holes in it before throwing it away so I'm down around 9 belt sizes off my waist since this started.

You might think "positive thoughts" are a bunch of hippie bull crap and that they won't do anything and in many cases you would be correct. Thinking positive won't do anything to change most outside factors in your life, for example you can not will yourself to win the lottery and make it so. You can however change things internally, in your mind cave (aka your view of yourself and the world around you).

If you think you are ugly and fat, you will feel bad.
If you feel bad you will lose motivation to make effort.
If you feel bad you will also seek comfort.
Ever hear of the term "comfort food"? People spoil themselves to get cheered up, spoiling is bad.
By putting forth less effort and spoiling yourself you will see slower results, or even negative results.
This will make you feel worse and the cycle starts all over again digging yourself deeper and deeper in.
The term for this effect is known as: The Self Fulfilling Prophecy. The prediction, or thoughts actually makes the outcome more likely.
Alternatively:
If you think you are pure awesome with just a few pounds to lose you will feel like you are making a positive impact.
If you feel like you are doing good you will find you have more energy and want to put forth more effort.
If you feel good you won't need comfort, other people will be coming to you for comfort you will have so much of it.
You will see faster results, and if you don't you won't beat yourself up about it.
This will make you feel even better and the cycle starts all over again and each time you feel better and better.

Take the word "Diet" and delete it from your vocabulary. Diets are temporary, and do you know what temporary means? It means eventually things go back to how they were. If you want to lose weight and keep it off forever you don't want a diet, you want a lifestyle you can keep up until the day you die. These are the questions I asked myself when I built my new lifestyle:
Can I live without my favorite foods for the rest of my life?
Can I live without treats for the rest of my life?
How long can I stay sane eating salads?
What do I do about food cravings?
The answers I came up with were pretty much:
Hell no.
Hell no.
Oh God what is a salad?
I can't just fight them until the end of my life.
I think most people on this earth will have the exact same answers as me. We want to lose weight but still eat what we like and there is no way in hell we can just not eat the things we like ever again. So good news! I have not eaten a single salad and lost 57 pounds. I still eat the foods I like, and I still have treats. I made a list of JUST SEVEN simple rules and those are the only changes I made to what I eat and in 4 months I have not gotten tired of it or quit.
1) Drink Water. I cut out sodas and fruit drinks and all the other drinks but water from my life. I still drink them as treats but my default drinks are: Water, Ice Water, and 1/3 a cup of hot water with 2 lemon slices and 2 packets of stevia (a natural directly from a plant 0 calorie sugar substitute that unlike splenda won't give you cancer) and 2/3 a cup of cold water. 99.9% of the time I will drink one of those drinks. As a result a HUGE chunk of calories are gone from my weekly calorie intake and unlike sodas and energy drinks I feel refreshed when I take a sip of water because it has no salts and actually quenches thirst. Filtered ice water tastes like the nectar of the Gods, and the lemon drink has flavor to it, and is sweet and still has 0 calories. I drink about 9 cups of water a day.
2) Portion Size. You can eat whatever the heck you want even pure sugar and still lose weight. As long as you don't eat more calories than you burn. I still eat garbage plates (google it). Only instead of eating it as one meal until it felt like my stomach would explode I now eat them in 3 meals. Also by shrinking your portions down and compensating by drinking more water your body will quickly adjust and feel full much sooner.
3) Cheat days. I give myself one day a week I can eat whatever I want even if it puts me over my calorie count for the day. This serves two purposes. 1) It keeps me sane and able to eat my precious garbage plates and drink rootbeers. 2) It keeps my body from going into "starvation mode". Basically if your body gets used to how much you are eating it will lose weight slower so by taking in more calories than usual it throws my body off its game and it will start to burn more even though 6 days out of 7 I don't take in as many calories.
4) Calorie counting is for idiots. There is no way you are going to keep some silly little diet book around with you until you die trying to add up how much you are eating and what your calorie totals are. I generally have a cereal that turns the milk chocolatey (so I can't taste the difference between skim milk and regular milk) for breakfast, a non-fat ham sandwich and mustard with a fig bar for lunch, and dealers choice for dinner. This way I can easily tell how many calories I take in a day by just figuring out what my dinner is and adding it to my breakfast and lunch total which is always the same. Simple math I can easily keep track of until I die and if I want different lunch meat or something it isn't hard to find out how much that differs from what I usually get and just adjust my daily breakfast+lunch number for that week.
5) Treats. You will crave treats and you won't be able to say no to yourself until the end of time. When you give in (it will happen if you fight it) and find yourself eating everything in sight on a food-binge you will probably feel bad and beat yourself up about it. That is why I have things like fudgesicles which are delicious fudge tasting ice cream bars that only have 40 calories in them. I also have apples, pears, this strange thing that is a cross between an apple and a pear, and lots of other stuff that taste sweet or chocolatey and I only give them to myself as treats. This way I have healthy treats that actually taste good that I can say yes to when I get food cravings and not have to beat myself up for having one. The goal is to never make yourself feel like crap.
6) Make sure you have a variety of things you eat. It is important to shake things up or you might not be getting vitamins you need. Vitamin pills and such largely don't get dissolved in your body so taking them won't help you much. It is important to get vitamins from what you eat. If you feel sluggish or weak or depressed for no reason it probably means you are missing a vitamin that your body needs. Don't be an idiot and listen to your body.
7) Watch what you take into your body! You don't want to lose weight only to die from cancer or some kind of toxin so look at labels! If it says Msg, aspartame, splenda, or "artificial sweeteners/flavors" you are better off getting something else. Also I get my fruits from the farmers market and not the grocery store to avoid pesticides and lord knows what else companies do to get food growing faster. As always remember to wash before eating.

You might think "Oh no I can't go to the gym, fit people will look at me and blah blah blah". Well guess what, I'm down 57 pounds and I went to the gym once in the last 4 months. I just got a job in a dang oven lifting heavy sacks of ingredients and trays of baked goods. So you can get your exercise in however you want. Ideally by having a job you need to work at, and working out (which I will be starting soon). Your workout can be as simple as an hour on the treadmill every day running a 20 minute mile watching tv or listening to tunes. There is only one rule I have for exercise be it in a gym or at work: Invest in good shoes. If your feet are comfy you will be a HAPPY, HAPPY camper. If your feet are not comfy you will be miserable and in pain for a longgg time trying to bounce back. I won't go into anything complicated like which weight lifting things you should do for which muscles or arm days and leg days. The simple truth is any exercise is good exercise, doesn't matter which weight station it is at, what sport/activity you play, or what job you have. The important thing is just that you do something. Also it is important to remember that muscle weighs more than fat so you may gain weight because you built muscle but lose fat and be much skinnier overall so don't let your scale mess with your head.

3 cups (450g) plain flour
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 egg, lightly whisked
Writing fudge and choc chips, to decorate (or anything else for that matter, heck you can throw in some edible gold leaf if you want to get fancy
Method
Step 1: Preheat oven to 180°C. Line 2 large oven trays with baking paper.
Step 2: Place butter, golden syrup and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 3 minutes or until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil. Remove from heat. Add bicarbonate of soda and stir to combine. Transfer to a large heatproof bowl. Set aside to cool.
Step 3: Sift flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and baking powder over butter mixture. Add the egg and stir until combined. Turn onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead until smooth. Divide dough into two portions. Shape each portion into a disc and cover with plastic wrap. Place in the fridge for 45 minutes or until firm.
Step 4: Roll one portion between 2 sheets of baking paper until 5mm thick. Using a 6-7cm Christmas pastry cutters, cut shapes from dough, re-rolling scraps. Place on the lined trays, 3cm apart to allow for spreading. Repeat with remaining gingerbread portion.
Step 5: Bake in preheated oven, 1 tray at a time, for 8 minutes or until just firm to touch. Remove from oven and set aside on trays for 5 minutes to cool before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Decorate gingerbread using writing fudge and rainbow choc chips, if desired.
